Who Are The Friends of South?
Friends of South Eugene High School is an independent charitable 501-c3 tax-exempt organization of parents and alumni supporting all South Eugene High School Students. We support academics, arts, athletics, activities, and helping students in need by building long-term relationships with South Eugene parents, alumni, and businesses throughout the community. Friends of South sponsors several fundraisers throughout the year to support students at South, highlighted by the marquee Celebrate South and Axe Hall of Fame Dinner in February. Please join us in supporting South Eugene by becoming a member, volunteering, or joining us at our annual event.
Allow us to introduce you to Friends of South Eugene High School, formed to support student activities and sports at South Eugene. This is where you can plug in to support your student with your volunteer time and contributions. If you have more than one child or they are participating in more than one sport or activity, this is the place for you to get involved.
Friends of South was formed on the foundation of the former Axemen Booster Club, whose name and purpose have been changed to deepen and widen the support of the school. Friends of South only works with the generous contributions of your time and donations. We are a non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are tax-deductible. We maintain an account that supports many general needs, an Athletics Endowment, AND separate accounts for specific sports or activities, so your contributions can be directed to the activities you designate.
Friends of South’s by-laws make us a “member” organization; meaning that if you wish to participate, you are a member. You are invited to meetings, to vote annually on officers, and any by-laws amendments. Friends of South’s plan is to provide various teams, clubs, and activities, from Debate, Drama, and Music, to Football, Rowing, or Baseball, with an array of ways to raise money without reinventing the wheel every year.
